I purchased this battery pack to use with my Yongnuo YN-565EX flashgun and my Canon 7D, so far I have been very impressed. The flash recycle time is virtually instantaneous, both on TTL flash and Stroboscopic modes. I specifically choose the PiXeL TD-381 because of the dual circuit that charges the flash unit capacitor directly, thus leaving the 4 x AA batteries in the flash head to communicate with the camera, operate the zoom, menu functions etc.
In terms of build quality, I rate this product 5-star, primarily because all of the components fit very snugly together, from the cable plug which fits into the flash very solidly, to the battery pack battery tray (I'm using the new Sanyo Eneloop AA Ni-mh rechargeable batteries that are a bit larger in width than your standard Alkaline batteries) that is a little tight, but then nothing rattles and it all feels like a single unit, to finally the belt-strap canvas case that is also a perfect fit. The overall feel is high quality. I did some research prior to purchasing this product and so far there have been no surprises, everything seems to confirm many of the other positive reviews. If I was to look for one weak spot, it might be the battery compartment door lock feels a bit fragile if you were heavy-handed, but as long as you ensure that the battery cartridge with the 8 x AA's is 100% inserted before one attempted to slide the door down to the 'locked' position, then I don't think that there should ever be any problems (so better to buy multiple packs rather than trying to change the batteries either in the dark or in a hurry, or else be careful and take one's time).
Overall, my experience with this battery pack could be summed up by the phrase: "completely satisfied" and I'd have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Indeed, some highly reputable camera stores already stock this particular battery pack, which is another reason that I opted for this particular model.
