It's OK, but nothing to really shout about. Powered with Non-rechargeable CR2's it's about the same brightness as a "100mw slim type running on pair or AA's". And it sure won't burn ANYTHING. Another real drawback is the manual focus - which involves unscrewing the front cap, to actually focus it to a tight spot it seems like your going to unscrew it off completely! you don't! but it's just a bit clunky, as i said, having been used to 'slim' laser pointers. I tested this on the bench and with a supply set at 6V (2xCR2) it draws about 117mA which means it's consuming just a little under 700mW , which is in the ballpark. what i haven't done yet is power it up with a supply of 7.2V to simulate 2x rechargeable CR2's, maybe it comes good then but if that's the case why isn't it sold as "designed to run on rechargeable batteries" ??
All that said said, it is quite bright & it is quite cheap. It's just not quite as good as i had hoped for.
